HP Specter x360 15 releases the Intel processor with Vega graphics

HP has announced at CES 2018  the new generation of the Specter x360 15 . A convertible that stands out as the first to incorporate the 8th generation of Intel® Core ™ processors with Radeon ™ RX Vega M graphics, also presented at the Las Vegas fair.

The new Specter x360 15 is the most outstanding premium convertible of HP and the second generation  improves in design, security, autonomy and especially in process and graphics performance , thanks to the new processor that combines an Intel quad-core CPU, with Radeon graphics RX ™ Vega M and 4 Gbytes of dedicated HBM2 memory, using Intel’s Embedded Multi-Die Interconnect Bridge (EMIB) technology, which acts with an intelligent, high-speed bridge of information between the GPU and the HBM2 memory.

The Specter x360 15 (2018) maintains its 13.3-inch IPS multitouch screen with two resolutions to choose from, Full HD and 4K, and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass NBT. It also reinforces its hinge system that allows the screen to fold up to 360 degrees to offer four modes of use, from ultraportable to tablet, and refines its external design with more angular lines of its CNC machined aluminium chassis, while maintaining both colour finishes. The spectacular coppery black that we saw from the original model:

It also improves its connectivity with two USB Type C-Thunderbolt ™ 3  and other USB 3.0 ports, as well as dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth and HDMI output. It has a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system. The autonomy is another of the highlights of the Specter x360 since with panel FHD rises to 16.5 hours and 10 hours with the panel with 4K resolution. It also has a fast loading system.

HP Pen Active Stylus has also been enhanced by adding sensitivity to the tilt, with charging via the included USB Type-C ports and support for Windows Ink. To reinforce the security section, it has an infrared camera with support for Windows Hello and HP Sure View technology, a screen against “visual hacking”.

In terms of memory and storage, you can equip up to 16 Gbytes of RAM and up to 1 Tbyte of capacity with solid-state drives to PCIe. All in all, the big improvement is the increased performance provided by the quad-core Intel processor with AMD’s Vega graphics.

The new Specter x360 15 pre-installs the Windows 10 operating system and will be available in the month of March in the specialized channel and in the HP Store with a base price of 1,369 dollars.

Intel processor with Vega graphics
The great novelty of the Specter is the 8th generation of Intel® Core ™ processors with Radeon ™ RX Vega M graphics. With a wide variety of features and designed with the needs of gamers, content creators and fans of virtual and combined reality in mind, these processors expand Intel’s portfolio and have been optimized for small format devices, such as systems 2 in 1, thin and light notebooks and mini-PCs.

Announced last November, the solution is a novelty in the industry and will allow thinner, lighter and more powerful mobile platforms for enthusiasts, combining high-performance processors and discrete graphics cards in ultrathin notebook designs.

These units combine an Intel quad-core CPU, with Radeon RX ™ Vega M graphics and 4GB of dedicated HBM2 memory, using Intel’s Embedded Multi-Die Interconnect Bridge (EMIB) technology, which acts with an intelligent information bridge and high speed between the GPU and the HBM2 memory and reduces the usual silicon footprint to less than half compared to the discrete components implemented separately.

With these space savings, OEMs have more freedom and flexibility to build thin and light devices. For example, many 3-year-old systems weigh almost 3 kilos, have batteries of about four hours and a thickness of more than 32 mm. With this new processor, device lovers can enjoy equipment less than 17 mm capable of operating up to eight hours with a single charge, while offering a performance of the next level.
